In the wake of the Central Cee and Madeline Argy incident, another public dispute has surfaced, this time involving rapper Ice Spice and her fellow New York artist Cleotrapa.
Cleotrapa, who appeared in Ice Spice’s “In Ha Mood” music video and served as an opening act during the U.S. portion of her Y2K! Tour, recently took to TikTok to address the fallout between the two. She accused Ice Spice of treating her poorly on tour and detailed why their friendship had come to an end. Ice Spice has since responded, sharing her own perspective on the situation.
The controversy deepened when Baby Storme, another artist and former friend of Ice Spice, claimed that Ice had been exploiting Cleotrapa. According to Baby Storme, Ice Spice never truly liked Cleotrapa but maintained the friendship to appear more “in touch with blackness.” Baby Storme also posted screenshots of an alleged conversation with Ice Spice in which she called Cleotrapa “mad fake,” captioning the post with, “Fake friends gotta stick together,” while referencing a photo of Ice Spice and Cleotrapa together.
In a series of online posts, Cleotrapa opened up about her experience on tour, insisting that she wasn’t paid for her performances, despite assumptions to the contrary. She emphasized that the lack of payment wasn’t her main issue, but she felt misled and mistreated throughout the process.
In a lengthy, six-part TikTok series, Cleotrapa explained how her friendship with Ice Spice deteriorated. She revealed that their friendship began two years ago, but issues began to arise once she joined the Y2K! Tour. She was given only a day’s notice to prepare for the tour, and although she initially believed Ice Spice was genuinely trying to be a friend, things took a sour turn. Cleotrapa noted that it was difficult to get Ice Spice to apologize, describing the situation as “like pulling teeth.”
Throughout the tour, Cleotrapa claimed she received little support from Ice Spice or her team. She wasn’t promoted as an opening act, wasn’t listed on any tour materials, and was expected to pay for her own five-star hotel accommodations despite being told she wouldn’t have to. Cleotrapa also recounted moments where she was left out, such as not being invited to a steakhouse dinner with Ice Spice and her team, and even being denied a chicken salad because she was “not part of the budget.”
Adding further fuel to the fire, Cleotrapa shared a private message exchange with Ice Spice in which she expressed her frustrations. Although she assured Ice Spice that she wasn’t angry, Ice Spice allegedly responded by calling her “ungrateful.” Cleotrapa ultimately speculated that she was only invited on the tour to do “damage control” related to the ongoing drama with Baby Storme.
The fallout between Ice Spice and Cleotrapa has left fans divided, with both sides sharing their accounts of what transpired. Whether the controversy will impact Ice Spice’s future collaborations or tours.
